Sir Copper arrived in September of 2011. He was rescued from a puppy mill auction in October of 2010, then fostered in Texas. When he wasn't adopted after about a year of having been up for adoption, he arrived here to live out his life. He was about 12 years old (according to the ophthalmologist). Despite his having been in a puppy mill for almost his entire life, it was easy to see that he was the perfect dog---loving, gentle, enthusiastic, house-broken and generally a wonderful boy.

He had lost an eye to Corneal Degeneration and was on medication to slow the progression of the disease in his other eye. He had a grade 3 murmur and was on heart medication. On Tuesday, 7/10/2012, after having had his teeth cleaned by a hygienist, he passed away. Evidently, the stress was too much for him and the cords that hold his mitral valve gave out. He is terribly missed, but died very much loved.
